When a Tree Falls in the Forest: Decorative Redwood Rounds for Weddings

June 16, 2026 Weddings

Wedding season at Mitchell Grove runs from May through October, but that doesn’t mean things are quiet during the winter.
Winter is when we work on projects, maintenance, and improvements around the property. This winter, a redwood tree came down.
As we looked at the trunk, we realized it was the perfect size for redwood rounds. Rather than letting the wood go to waste, we had it cut into sections and added them to our lending closet.
This season they’ve been popular. Couples have used them for aisle décor, floral arrangements, welcome displays, and other decorative touches.
If you tour Mitchell Grove, we’ll be happy to show you the lending closet and the items available for couples to use. The redwood rounds have quickly become one of our most frequently borrowed pieces.`
