Built by Family, Driven by Love

June 14, 2026 Weddings

At Mitchell Grove, some of the most memorable wedding details aren’t rented, purchased, or professionally designed. They’re brought by the people who love the couple.

This vintage getaway car was one of those details. The bride’s grandfather had lovingly refurbished it himself, and on the wedding day it became the newlyweds’ getaway car. More than transportation, it was a gift of time, skill, and care from one generation to the next.

We call weddings like this people-powered. Family members share talents, friends lend a hand, and meaningful details find their way into the celebration. The result isn’t a wedding that looks like everyone else’s. It’s a wedding that reflects the people who helped create it.

That’s one of our favorite things about DIY weddings at Mitchell Grove. They leave room for family stories, personal touches, and contributions that no rental catalog could ever provide.
