Why We Recommend Event Helper for Event Insurance

June 1, 2026 Weddings

We’ve been recommending Event Helper for years.

At first, it was just convenient, but what eventually impressed us was something simple: good leadership.

The quiet kind.

Over time, they noticed that Mitchell Grove couples were repeatedly filling out the same information. Rather than make everyone start from scratch, they created a pre-populated link specifically for our venue. It saved time, reduced mistakes, and made one small part of wedding planning a little easier.

That may not sound like much, but planning a wedding involves hundreds of decisions. Whenever we can make something a little simpler, we try to.

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about what we actually do here at Mitchell Grove.

For years, I would have simply said that we host DIY weddings. That’s true, but it doesn’t tell the whole story.

The phrase that feels more accurate is quietly supported.

We aren’t baking your cake or arranging your flowers. Instead, we’re always looking for ways to remove unnecessary obstacles. We notice things. We make adjustments. We try to make the experience smoother.

Event Helper seems to approach things the same way.

Recently, one of our insurance links stopped working correctly. Things that are normally smooth suddenly wasn’t. So I called Event Helper and spoke with Myles.

We had a lovely conversation.

Myles listened, understood the issue, and told me he needed a little time to talk with his team. He felt confident they could solve it, and they did.

Problem fixed.

But what I remember most isn’t the technical issue. It’s the conversation that followed.

As we talked, I learned that Myles had a DIY wedding himself.

He told me about getting married in a small town where permits allowed them to use the town square. Instead of worrying about what they couldn’t afford, they focused on what mattered to them. They invited the entire town—all 260 residents—and spent much of their budget on a great band.

When he talked about his wedding, he wasn’t talking about what was missing.

He talked about how much fun they had.

That resonated with me because we see the same thing here.

Sometimes couples read articles warning them not to DIY their wedding. They’re told it’ll be stressful, chaotic, or somehow less meaningful.

Our experience has been very different.

People who choose a DIY wedding aren’t usually sitting around years later wishing they had spent more money on centerpieces or upgraded linens.

They’re laughing about the flower girl who tripped halfway down the aisle.

They’re remembering the uncle who gave an unexpectedly wonderful toast.

They’re talking about the music, the people, the funny stories, and the moments that couldn’t have happened any other way.

A meaningful wedding isn’t created by perfection.

It’s created by people.

So yes, we recommend Event Helper because they’ve been reliable, responsive, and easy for our couples to work with.

But we also appreciate that behind the company are people who seem to understand something we’ve learned ourselves:

Sometimes the best support is the quiet kind.
