One of the beautiful things about a wedding in a redwood forest is that it’s a real forest — full of life, mystery, and the kind of quiet energy you can’t stage. What guests rarely see is the gentle choreography that keeps that magic undisturbed.
At Mitchell Grove, our livestock guardian dogs play a quiet but essential role. You won’t see them wandering through your ceremony — they stay in the house with us, walked on leashes, never allowed to roam while guests are here. After the last guests have gone and the hall doors are closed with all the trash secured inside, the dogs return to their watch.
It’s a system that keeps the bear respectfully at bay, the forest at peace, and no creature harmed. The result is what we love most — a magical redwood wedding that feels completely untouched, even though behind the scenes, it’s carefully cared for.
