Here at Mitchell Grove, we have a soft spot for dogs with long histories and big loyalties. The dog in this photo isn’t just “a wedding dog” — he’s a retired show dog who has spent years beside this bride. You could feel it. He watched her the entire time, flower collar and all, as if he knew the day was about her but belonged to him too.
We do welcome dogs here — truly welcome them — because we know that some love stories begin long before the engagement. When couples bring animals who have been with them through moves, heartbreaks, home-buying, late-night study sessions, and full chapters of life, it changes the tone of a wedding day. There is a steadiness in the air. A witness who has seen the whole arc.
To keep the peace between animals and the flow of the day, we simply ask that they remain on leash — not to limit them, but to help them stay included rather than sidelined.
