One of my favorite parts of a wedding story is often what you see the next morning. The “messy morning after” photos don’t just show tables and chairs — they show the joy that was shared, the laughter that carried late into the night, and the freedom couples feel when they can truly enjoy their day without watching the clock for cleanup. At Mitchell Grove, couples can relax, knowing they don’t need to rush. Aside from taking care of the trash (because we are rural and don’t want to invite animals), everything else can wait until morning.
This couple traveled from out of the area and planned much of their wedding from afar. They filled their celebration with personal touches: serving cider they had made at Mitchell Grove a year earlier, and dancing while a friend acted as their DJ. Their dessert table was just as unique — they delighted their guests with crème brûlée and bread pudding. Love writes the story in different ways for every couple. For these two, it was about savoring every moment, creating traditions of their own, and knowing they could stretch their celebration into the next morning — when the “mess” was really just proof of a beautiful day.
